Ministry – We Believe

June 30, 2010 - 8:01 am 23 Comments

standing round the table
spinning fables
and signing autographs
can’t you hear them laugh
ha ha ha ha ha
in their secrecies
they plan their strategies
it’s called hypocrisy
and we believe

mornings
they tell me everything
that i need to know
or i care to know
well i can visualize
the look in your eyes
the horror
as the plane goes down
and the siren sounds
we can’t believe
we can’t believe

in the east where the bear is dancing
in the west where the eagle flies
in the middle we stand our ground
the forces pull us down down down

tensions on both sides
we’re paralyzed and victimized
we’re terrified and petrified
demoralized and mortified
of genocide and suicide
and patricide and cyanide
we’re pacified by every side
force-fed pride and then we die for them
we die for them

in the east where the bear is dancing
in the west where the eagle flies
in the middle we stand our ground
the forces pull us down down down

we believe

HD!!! Michael Jackson Memorial Final Closing Prayer by Pastor Lucious Smith “Man in the Mirror”

June 30, 2010 - 8:01 am 25 Comments

The closing prayer of Michael Jackson’s unforgettable Memorial on July 7, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as spoken by Pastor Lucious Smith of the Friendship Baptist Church in Pasadena, California.

ABOUT Pastor Smith:

Pastor Lucious W. Smith has pastored the Friendship Baptist Church in Pasadena, California since 1996. “The Jewel of Old Pasadena” stands as a glowing reminder of the African American presence in this part of the city. While remaining true to the church’s historical roots, Pastor Smith has sought to keep the ministries of the church relevant with contemporary application of the Gospel message. Having been raised in Friendship since birth, the relationship he has with the church is very personal. His love for his work is only surpassed by his love for the people whom he shepherds. Pastor Smith is committed to a biblical expository ministry and delivers his sermons whereas even a little child can comprehend.

Pastor Smith currently serves as the President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Greater Pasadena (IMA). He desires to create an atmosphere of unity and fellowship among Christian Clergy, resulting in a unified presence in the cities in which they serve. He believes that there are no “Big I’s” or “Little You’s”, and that every ministry ordained by God has value, whatever the size. He believes that “There are no small churches. Everything God creates is intended to thrive and grow.”

Ministry – Cannibal Song

June 29, 2010 - 3:32 pm 18 Comments

dehumanize
lobotomize
thrown into a cell
swallow your pride
in an infant mind

thrown into a cell
a punishment fit
for a crippled mind
don’t do that to me
criminals, sodomites, all laughing at me

life is hell
forever fighting
a deficient mind
we’re all left alone and poisoned
a sickening trap
a sight worth seeing

dehumanize
lobotomize
thrown into a cell
swallow your pride
in an infant mind

don’t do that to me
don’t do that to me
force breaks our back
time preserves, fearfully

you know what i said
hideous and strange
thrown into a cell
a punishment fit
for a crippled mind

Ministry – Burning Inside

June 29, 2010 - 3:32 pm 25 Comments

will these dreams still follow me
out of dark obscurity?
can’t you see it up in the sky
as it kicks you in the face and sucks you dry
you never had the answers
and now you tell me the facts of life
i really couldn’t be bothered with you
get out of my face and watch me die
burning inside! burning inside!

absolution and a frozen room
are the dreams of men below
i try to grab it but the touch is hot
the mirror collapses, but the image came not
i’m scared of the darkness in the light
i scare myself because i know i’m right
i see the evil in your savage eye
as it cuts right through the sky
burning inside! burning inside!

calling a mantra with a blade in the skin
for the demons within
i feel the pain is the death and decay
but the lesson never fades away
too little shadows, turn away
you throw the man through the window pane
another slave and a victim of fate
another lesson in hate
burning inside! burning inside!

I want to give a little back story on each song that I post, just for fun. :)

After deciding upon the band name “Ministry of Magic”, Aaron starting singing over a song we were listening to in a bar, singing “I solemnly swear that I’m up to no good.” Jason and I laughed, and I said I was going to write a song revolving around that idea the next day – and I did. :)

Ministry – The Angel

June 25, 2010 - 8:00 am 22 Comments

now is an angel there?
now is an angel there?
now is an angel there?

one left out
when they passed heaven about
what about me
sitting here in my purgatory
so left out
he’s dead
i’m alive
he’s spared
always an angel who cares
always an angel there

one like me
we try so hard
five like you
someone dead again
where’s your angel now?
where’s your angel now?
where’s your morals now?
where’s your morals?

always an angel there
where’s your angel now?
always an angel who cares
always an angel there
where’s your morals?
there’s always an angel who cares
there’s always an angel there

no more people staring
no more fatal dares
like a baby grabbing at
something that isn’t there
but it is
but it is

always an angel there
always an angel who cares
always an angel there
always an angel who cares

I want to give a little back story on each song that I post, just for fun. :) The reason The Hero has a man named Ned singing in it is because Aaron was unable to record his vocals in time for our release date. The Hero was the last song written for The Triwizard LP, Ned helped write the lyrics, and we really wanted to get the album released – thus we have Ned singing in place of Aaron.

FUN FACT – Ned played bass at MoM’s first show in early 2007 at a Borders with Luke and Jason.

Ministry – The Land of Rape and Honey

June 20, 2010 - 5:51 am 25 Comments

face to face
blood to blood
the mountain
you tumbled from
and in the land of rape and honey
you prey

step by step
you climb the mountain
you prey

fist to fist
eye to eye
the rulers of the wasteland
and in the land of rape and honey
you prey

step by step
you climb the mountain
you prey

head to head
chest to chest
which country is the very best?
and in the land of rape and honey
you prey

step by step
you climb the mountain
you prey

Ministry – So What

June 15, 2010 - 9:43 pm 14 Comments

“You have had all that money can give you, but that wasn’t
enough. You became a thrill-seeker. Kill for the thrill.
(assassin) This thrill-seeking became the one great thing in
your life, planning one thrill on another until the murder. Kill
for the love of killing. (guilty) Kill for the thrill. The
thrill-seeker comes from all walks of life. He comes from the
home, a home where the parents are to busy to treat their children
with respect.”

Die! Die! Die! Die!
Scum-suckers! Debility divulged!
Anal fuck-fest, thrill Olympics
Savage scourge supply and sanctify
So what? So what?
So what? So what?
Die! Die! Die! Die!

Die! Die! Die! Die!
You said it!
Sedatives supplied become laxatives
My eyes out lies
I only kill to know I’m alive
So what? So what?
So what? So what?
Die! Die! Die! Die!

“Kill for the thrill. (assassin) Some people think newspapers
exaggerate juvenile crime. All that is defined mostly to the
large cities, juvenile delinquency is underlined. Thus parents
think something is going wrong with the environment. Adults
create the world, children live it. Juvenile delinquency is
always rooted in adult delinquency. And in this process, parents
play the key role when children grow up among adults who refuse
to recognize anything that is fine and good, or worthy of
respect.”

Die! Die! Die! Die!
So what, it’s your own problem to learn to live with
Destroy us, or make us slaves
We don’t care, it’s not our fault that we were born too late
A screaming headache on the promised age
Killing time is appropriate
To make a mess and all the rest, we say, we say
So what? So what?
So what? So what?
Die!

Die!
Now that I know what it’s like,
I’ll kill them all if I like
Only time will decide
No one listened to reason,
it’s too late and I’m ready to fight
So what? Now I’m ready to fight!
I’m ready to fight!
I’m ready to fight!
I’m ready to fight!
I’m ready to fight!
Fight!
Fight!
Fight!
Fight!
So What?
So What?
So What?
So What?
So What?
So What?
