The state law office has emerged the top performing government department in performance contracting evaluation for the public service this year. The ministry of Agriculture whose Minister during the evaluation period was William Ruto emerged the second best performing ministry. State House took the third position while the Ministry of Provincial Administration is fourth. Completing the list of top ten best performers are the ministries of Planning, National Heritage, Public Service, Lands, Roads and Information and Communication. Among the worst performers are Ministries of Forestry and Wildlife, Gender and Children affairs, East African Community, Regional Development and Nairobi Metropolitan Development. The performance contracting evaluation results were released today at an event attended by President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
