World Prayer Center – Colorado Springs, CO
While in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 13, 2009, I decided to visit the World Prayer Center. The place is HUUUUUUUGE! Can you say “MegaChurch”?

Global Harvest Ministries and The World Prayer Center is dedicated to raising the prayer effort to “pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His harvest” and see all peoples and nations hear the good news that Jesus has given us eternal life through His death and resurrection.
Adjacent to Global Harvest Ministries is The World Prayer Center. The Prayer Center is a joint effort of several fundamentalist organizations but located at and presided over by New Life Church – houses a bookstore called Solomons Porch, as well as corporate prayer rooms, personal prayer closets, hotel rooms, and the headquarters of Global Harvest, a ministry dedicated to spiritual warfare. (The Prayer Centers nickname in the fundamentalist world is spiritual NORAD.)
Peter Wagner is the President of the Global Harvest Ministries.
Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders (ACPE). A group of 25 respected prophets meet with me every fall to seek a word from the Lord for the following year. Meanwhile, we all stay in touch with each other and we support each other’s ministries as opportunity arises. Cindy Jacobs prepares the agenda and serves as the ACPE Scribe to compile and issue the forthcoming prophetic document. This is a closed group.

Are you saying that it’s alright to spend millions on a church when they don’t need it?
Is that in the spirit of Christianity? Is that what Jesus proposed?
Also, what do you mean by “Somebody’s gonna haveta pray and support your broke-self.” I don’t need somebody to pray for me. And if I did, they can do that for free. It doesn’t take countless millions that could be put to better use.

Hey man, if you feel called to poverty or to be a missionary in some 3rd-world country, then good luck and everything, but DON’T trash believers who are finacially well off; Somebody’s gonna haveta pray and support your broke-self.
Bible says ‘Keep unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace’; in order words don’t be startin no mess in the Body, we(more importantly GOD) can’t have that.

Well, I’m honestly …
Well, I’m honestly not into church. I used to be, but not anymore. I’m still a Christian though. I just have no need for church anymore, because they made it pretty clear they have no need for me. I agree to a point about what you said – instead of spending millions of dollars for a church, money should go to help people of the world. This megachurch is helping people of the world. To what extent, I don’t know. But since I don’t know much about the church, I’m not going to criticize them.

Such an extravagant waste of money. Typical god followers. Give give give until it hurts because it’s all for god…actually it’s all for the men who pretend to be for god.
How about you instead of spending millions of dollars for a church, help some people of the world? Something that actually NEEDS the money.
