Come on saints after all the years of going to church we aught to know this by know. Thats why we need to pray, and ask God for devine revelation for ourselves. And if we were in ministries that taught it we wouldn’t be lost. I used to be a member of new Testament years ago, but even before then I knew about the Holy Ghost.Tongues is ONE of the fruits of the spirit

Since some comments have been made negative and with such ignorance. Let me try to explain this.The gift of tongues is just what it says a “gift.” It is used just as deaconrory said, as a prayer language. It is also used to intensify the atmoshere. Because I believe when you begin to speak with other tongue, you become strengthened within. Strengthened in your walk, strengthened in your talk, even strengthen in your prayer life.

No, I am not sure where the person who taught you got that information from, but being filled with the Holy Ghost is for ALL who will believe. I encourage you to join a Spirit-Filled ministry and sit under the teachings of someone who understands the gifts of the Spirit.

Can you teach me …
Can you teach me what you use tongues for? As u can read, I wrote to valambiguous about what I thought tongues were for and from what I read, I thought, but not for sure, that the guft of tongues were only for those 122 disciples of the apostal church or penecostal church that Jesus had visited… I would like to know more of what its about please, if possible. Thx.

I was taught that …
I was taught that the gift of tongues was given to like 122 disciples by Jesus while he was here on earth. He gave this gift of tongues to them, because of the way Jehovah god made diff. languages and so these disciples that had the gift were able to automatically speak a diff. language, so that other person could hear the word of god and understand em, I dont remember what scripture I was shown this story. But this is really what the tongues are for. I dont understand why others use em.

Aren’t there …
Aren’t there supposed to be two or at the most three interpreters in the assembly, when someone is speaking in tongues? (I Corinthians 27-28)…and aren’t we supposed to by led by the Spirit of God and, to do all things, decently and in order? How will we look to the world if they hold our behavior up, in light of scripture? How will we explain this to them?
