How can i get into the music industry??
I have been training in music production for a while now. I self taught my self to a certain level and then went to london to do an ableton complete course at subbase dj acadamy and then went to ministry of sound 2 weeks later to learn to mix with the software im finding it so hard and dont really know where i can start so if anybody has any advice then could you please help me ?? Thanks so much
Doors do not swing open in this industry. and those that have the keys keep the doors pretty well locked.
First, get working.
OFFER your services at local recording studios (look them up in the yellow pages) this will get you invaluable experience, plus advice and coaching from people that have been doing it a long time.
Find bands that need you help and work with them.
Being AROUND people in the industry is what gets you into the industry.
Its ok to dream but in the end you have to wake up and work.
we all have to start out small. No-one just steps into their dream job.
The answer is to get working and keep working. FIND a way to work, even if its unpaid.

cat gives some good advice and similar to what she says…. you have to know someone who knows someone who knows someone. But don’t let that deter you from trying all the same. I would also have a back up plan just in case things don’t work out the way you want them to!
