Monica Dennington of Tic Toc Ministries Reviewed and Called to Repent by Non-Calvinist Radio Station

November 8, 2009 - 7:07 pm 25 Comments

Here we have a non-Calvinist radio station who found Monica Dennington’s recent diatribe against Calvinism so ridiculous that they decided to review it and hold it to Scripture even though they don’t agree with Calvinism. I think Chris Rosebrough did a wonderful job even though we disagree on Calvinism (I agree with Calvinism; he doesn’t). If you want a good refutation of Tic Toc Ministry’s video, I’m not sure if you’ll find much better. While you listen to this, be sure to keep in mind that this is a *non-Calvinist* reviewing Dennington’s video.

As I’ve pointed out earlier, here Ms. Dennington argues that arguing is wrong, presents her theological view with the intention that you agree with it that if we agree with another’s theological view, we’re committing idolatry, and says that division is wrong while encouraging her viewers to divide themselves from “this error of Calvinism.” etc.

(This video falls under section 107 of the Fair Use Law. You can find more about it here:

If anyone has any notion that they’d like to have this removed based primarily on the claim of copyright infringement, be forewarned that I’m ready to fight it. This is clearly an example of material used for the purpose of critique which falls under section 107.)

Mrs. Dennington’s original video would be linked here if Fighting for the Faith did not review the entire video from start to finish.

    Lane, you are very …
Lane, you are very mocking in your deconstruction this is called derision. Monica did not mock anyone her intent is obviously more pure than yours, by far! The object of her defense is Christ, whereas, the object of your defense is a faction. Monica is NOT teaching against the teachings of Calvin! She is teaching against the tactics and obvious idol worship in a growing faction. Youre not stupid. Just peruse the Internet in search for such Calvinist blogs.

  2. ocpud2999 Says:

    People choose to …
People choose to fight against each other. It is a part of our sinful nature. I think God I belong to a church where an arminian a calvinist sit in the same pews. And we all love each other. I just dont think she really understands refomed theology. I have to admit I was a baptist when I becuase a chirsitan and I do had major issues with calivinism. After reading th bible I realize somthing. I was wrong. If I am in jail for my faith wheather arminian or calivist I fellowship with them.

  3. ChurchOfTheWay Says:

    If Monica is God’s …
If Monica is God’s chosen vessel to rebuke Calvinists, he must think very little of us and is determined to keep us confirmed in our sins.

  4. raphaelaaron Says:

    haha i love chris …
haha i love chris rosebrough. bless his lutheran heart. thanks lane for this.

  5. RMCDisciple Says:

    Really only two. …
Really only two. The true and the false. yay satan loses!

  6. Brightstar27 Says:

    freedomsoldier187, …
freedomsoldier187, ou know, that’s exactly what Monnica Dennington was talking about – the splitting of Christians against each other over issues such as thepological doctrine.

If theres an argument with true, bible-following Cristians on both sides of the Divide, it is NOT an argument sent by God.

  7. freedomsoldier187 Says:

    america has 1 big …
america has 1 big problem with christianity, way way way way way too many denominations

and now your fighting against each other, yay satan wins !

  8. gmapostol Says:

    The women do not …
The women do not have the authority to preach acording to the Bible. They do not realy care about that…even the basic comand of our Lord Jesus – to be baptised – is not done. The same with covering of the head, and gold earings, and tatoos. These are worldly people. HEY WAKE UP AND REPENT!

  9. Cooperpal Says:

    Monica addresses …
Monica addresses this. Her husband is her covering and he is the one recording her and behind her teachings.

  10. numberonesurvivor75 Says:

    Where in the Bible …
Where in the Bible do women even have the authority to preach?

  11. LaneCh Says:

    No problem. A …
No problem. A little further in, the entire video Mrs. Dennington posted on her channel is played and critiqued.

  12. blueskunk12 Says:

    I admit that I …
I admit that I turned it off around 12 minutes. Maybe I lack the patience to listen to your message.

  13. LaneCh Says:

How far in to the …
How far in to the program did you get?

  14. blueskunk12 Says:

    Your message seems …
Your message seems muddled within the first 10 minutes.

What I hear is that you say they were united in their teaching, then turn around and say they were not.

I also thought this was supposed to be about what Monica Dennington said. Then you go out to left field and talk about…. I don’t know what.

    Please stick to the point.

  15. themalina92 Says:

    So true.
    So true.

  16. hshambaugh Says:

    I dont understand …
I dont understand why people argue over whether or not we chose God or He chose us…and thinking about it why cant it be both? Maybe, some situations are different?
As lond as Im close with God and please Him…I dont really care how I got there:)

  17. CBALLEN Says:

I put my faith in …
I put my faith in Jesus’ perfection,I have none.

  18. Venustarr Says:

    There’s also alot …
There’s also alot of men that teach heresies.

  19. RockSprites Says:

    I would hope that …
I would hope that no one is attacking her, especially if we are Christians here. I certainly do not feel the person reviewing her video is “attacking” her. He just demolished her argument, which is fine. She could learn a lot from this video, not only about Calvinism, but about herself and her method of argument as well.

  20. BarmherzigkeitMusik Says:

    Lane, could you …
Lane, could you delete vachief’s comment, as the profanity is there and offensive to me and I’m sure to others reading through these comments? Thanks!

  21. BarmherzigkeitMusik Says:

    @ginnynorman
    “My …

    @ginnynorman
“My point is that all this squabbling amongst Christians makes us look ridiculous”

“Squabbling” is not the correct word. As if we were arguing over who likes white vs. chocolate milk. Serious arguments are being made (at least, from many), and that shows that we are serious about getting the truth right. There could be no higher compliment given to Christians than that we seek to know God’s truth.

  22. LaneCh Says:

    Why aren’t you …
Why aren’t you admonishing her to have sat down and spoken with us before she made her video? It seems that your critique can cut both ways so if you only meant for it to pertain to one side, you maybe should have thought of that before you made it.

  23. jsbntn Says:

So why not sit down …
So why not sit down with this woman and correct her in a loving way like Priscilla and Acquilla did with Apollos? As far as i can see/hear, she is addressing the body of Christ and is admonishing them in the same way Paul did with the YOUNG Christians of his day. So she mentions the name Calvin. Heck she could’ve thrown out the name Charlie Brown for all I care. Is she not preaching salvation thru Christ and Christ alone?… so whats your problem? Why the big chip on your shoulder?

  24. RMCDisciple Says:

    Not all unity is …
Not all unity is from Heaven and not all division is from hell.

  25. falcoismydog Says:

    Hi akaboo69,

    When …
    Hi akaboo69,

When we boil it all down, I agree that all who God has redeemed are “Christians”, however, our denominational labels help us to summarize more specifically what we believe. Most Americans consider themselves “Christian” by birthright, so someone who calls themselves a Christian is not necessarily one. My brother, who is a Mormon, calls himself a Christian.
