If your church has clown or puppetry ministries, how effective do you think they are?

Bozo has seen few really good ministries of this sort, but would be interested to know about any that really know what they’re doing while getting their messages across.

lol. I used to be "Smuggzy The Clown" at birthday events and church parties a few years back and I absolutely love clowns!! (I collect clowns!) Although some little ‘folk’ are scared of ‘us’ lol.

They are very effective… they scare the children into praying for protection and donating their allowance.

We had a puppet show for Christmas Eve services and it was awesome!
Literally hunderds of kids came.
They also had one at the Halloween event… dressed like a farmer and cleaned out a pumpkin, like how God cleans us out.
They use direct Bible messages and concepts.
Kids love it.

Clowns are creepy and scare some children so I don’t think that’s a good idea. Now, on the other hand, puppets are a great ministry. The last children’s pastor used puppets for the younger children and they related to him/them very well.

Children love the puppets..they are good to use to teach values..they can be very useful ..I have seen many skits that teach against bullying and teach sharing..and the kids hang on every word!

We used to do puppet ministries in Ecuador. They were very effective, and we enjoyed them a lot
