I have DSL and my download speed is very low: 275 kpbs. (I’ve done about every website’s speed test). Lately videos have been buffering VERY much, I’ve had to wait for YouTube videos to load. (they didn’t used to). One in particular being the videos on Joel Osteen Ministries website. The video is very choppy and buffers constantly to the point where it’s very annoying. I was curious if everyone could see these videos without constant buffering or if it’s just my lousy download speed. Anyway, I’ve posted a question similar to this before and some questions I’ve gotten were if I had filters on all phones (which I do), bad wiring (which we don’t have). So it could just be my lousy connection. Are there any other solutions to this problem? Thanks!

We, my husband and I, just got offered a position at a church to be the youth leaders. Their previous youth leader left and now the guy that teaches children’s church has been taking over. We’ve been sitting in with him and the youth a few times before we get up and teach.. I’m really excited about this because we’ve known for awhile we wanted to work in the ministry…

The only thing that makes me nervous is that there’s only about 4-6 teens in the youth and they never talk. Only one or two of them actually seem interested. Anyone have any ideas or resources on how to get these kids excited about God and coming to church? Any ideas on how to expand the youth?

By the way, right now, the guy only talks to them and shows them videos. There’s never really any activities or anything.. I’m hoping once we get started and do some activities, the kids will get more involved.

Does it bother anyone else that when you turn on christian programing that there is a 3 minute promo. about how annointed john smith is….or that john is such a great guy highly favored of the lord …or that for an extra 6 thousand dollars you too can travel to isreal and have this wonderful guy pray with you and show you where jesus was crucified ..etc… or maybe you need to take our couples cruise and spend 5 days on a boat in the carribian with mr. super annointed guy …Blah blah blah …Am I the only one here who’s caught this??? Why waste 7 minutes of airtime and a quarter million dollars telling everyone how wonderful you are with graphics and video editing of women in tears and such …..Shouldn’t the name of jesus be emphisized and our own decreased.?? How about it ??? …agree or disagree???
OK folks…I’m not asking for the name of your ministry ….. RATHER asking you if you are bothered by the self promotion of preachers….

If it brings someone to Christ there is no limit on how much money I’m willing to spend to spread the word. However I wouldn’t give money to people for them to accept Christ – I would do things like radio announcements, comercials, banners on websites, etc. that would promote the Gospel.

I find it kind of surprising how people say we "shove the bible down their throat" I have been a witness for 23 years. Anyone that I have went door to door has never acted that way. Sure, were going to ask questions.How else would we know what people think about the bible?
some people actually do worry about their future. I went out this week, I spoke with a baptist,Catholic, buddist, those were the ones who told me what they were. They had no interest in the bible, but, We got along fine. I don’t understand how people can think that every blue moon that a witness knocks on your door,and talks for less than 5 minutes is that big of a deal. I’m sure many people spend their time on mindless things such as tv, video games, not saying anything is wrong with that,but…I just don’t understand the bg deal of talking with someone for a few minutes. I’m always nice to people when they come to my door. Even was nice before I became a witness. I’ll see what you have to say…..Mark

I have always had good conversations with people. Some people on here are rude, but not all. There is an atheist studying the bible with Jehovah’s witnesses now. He said he tried to fight it but lost.

I first became familiar with him after viewing a video called, Raising Godly Children in an Ungodly World, awesome video & I would encourage any young parents or grandparents to see it. As for his work on evolution vs. creation, he & others (all scientists), offer a tremendous assortment of books, written for all levels of brains. There are books for the very young & going all the way up to the more intellectual Science Freaks & Geeks, no offence meant as I’m actually impressed by peple who like science. Any evolutionists who deny the possibility of creation, I challenge you to go to www.answersingenesis.org with an honest, open mind. They can take every argument you have & show proof why it can or cannot be true. If you are into earth science or you think the earth is millions of years old, or if you like dinosaurs (my kids did). Its an informative, fun site. No brainwashing, no forcing of beliefs. I challenge you to check it out thoroughly & openly, unless you might be too scared?
Just a thought to .500 mag, how do you do something with an open mind & then give the conclusion that you won’t be swayed?
To all who has answered, it was a challenge to go with an open mind. Not one response was with an open mind. I think you all agree that everyday we are changing because of experiences we go thru, even if you are a couch potato with no TV, you are changing, slightly, but still changing. If you agree everyday you are a changing person than it doesn’t matter if you’ve been there already. If you went to the 7th grade when you were suppose to be in second grade, how much would you get out of it? No, I didn’t say you were stupid. I’m saying so far everyone who has responded is very closed-minded. Too bad, its difficult to make an informed, intellectual decision without all the information & learned information whether you believe or not, can only come by way of an open mind or you don’t learn. Again, I’m not saying you must believe to learn, you must be open to learn.

I heard him speak at a homeschool conference last year. His ministry is phenomenal! He can explain and support creation as well as the best learned men of God. Keep praying for Ken Ham and His wonderful ministry.

Our church has an excellent youth ministry program, and shows funny videos and does skits all pertaining to Jesus but normally funny enough that the kids can relate back to it.. And so they all get a good laugh..

We’re a Christian Church.. we’re not solely one denomination.. meaning we don’t just belong nto First Baptist or Methodist.. we welcome anybody and we are based on Christianity.. a very laid back environment and TONS of kids and teenagers go its the best youth program I’ve ever been to! I’m only an 8th grader!

We have about 1,000 in attendance and live in a relatively small town.. that’s huge!!!

There are a few funnier videos they showed.. one about a mohawk guy on a park bench and he’s sitting by a guy in a business suit and you hear a voice debating about whether to invite the other cos they’re weird and at the end the ewird mohawk guy pulls out a flyer and offers it to the business man.. it was a hilarious twist! Can’t find it, argh!

But please put down any and all suggestions for funny god-related videos I could suggest for them to show!!!
