What is that men want from a men’s ministry at church and what would make it successful?

November 28, 2009 - 5:37 am 5 Comments

I attend a non-demoniacal church with about 2,000 in attendance. The problem is that the church has had a very difficult time getting a men’s ministry started. I just want to know what is that men want from a men’s ministry and what are the key components that would make it successful?

Thanks,

FELLOWSHIP and a chance to get out of the house and yuck it up with the guys a bit.

I’m serious. Most of these "ministries" center around Bible studies.
Most of these studies are things we’ve all heard before ad nauseum.

If you attempt to get a bunch of guys together to pray and study from a weekly studyguide it will likely fall flat.

Most men are aching to get out of the house.

You’ve got promote relationships. How do guys bond? Through trial, competition etc. Get them out on campouts, golf, rock climbing shooting and allow them to build relationships. Better yet, before doing so, form accountability groups of 3-5 men that trade phone numbers and share rides. When you have the bonds built, you will then be able to minister to them AND – they will minister to each other (most important).

Try it.

– Here’s another idea: Interleave your fellowship outings with work ministries – soup kitchen, building, home repair ministries etc. That’s another way men bond – through work. When they’ve developed a bond, they’ll be much more open to preaching and teaching, counseling and accountability support.

Pat Robertson (CBN)underwent knee replacement surgery.Did he try faith healing first?

November 28, 2009 - 5:36 am 5 Comments

We see lots of people with hip, spine, knee problems throwing of their crutches, wheel chairs and running and jumping after being healed by teleevangelists. Why didnt Mr.Pat opt for this cure instead of surgery? It would have been a great testimony for the evangelical ministry

thats really his business not yours…God usually just does the really big stuff right now till He returns

Does anyone know a very special prayer to St. Joseph?

November 28, 2009 - 5:36 am 10 Comments

There is one very powerful prayer that during the Crusades a Christian king carried a copy of it on his person and prayed it every day. He lead his men into many bloody battles but never lost a single battle. It is said that if we pray this prayer in faith every day, and also keep a copy of it close to us, that it has never been known to fail.

St. Joseph was the foster father of Jesus on earth, as Jesus’ real father was God the Father in Heaven. St. Joseph raised Jesus and taught him the trade of carpentry, and, right before Jesus went out to begin his three year ministry Joseph died in the arms of Jesus. Jesus was God and yet he loved, honored and obeyed his parents Joseph and Mary while he was here on earth. Oh, that we could all die in the arms of Jesus. What a wonderful thought.

Yes, you can buy this special holy card at a religious store. I bought mine in San Antonio, Texas last year when I went to visit there. Here It is:

Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interest and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ , Our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls—Pray for me.

Say this for 9 mornings for anything you may desire. It has never been known to fail, so be sure you really what what you ask.
I have said this prayer for many years and it works. Be sure to say it reverently.
